I'm an experienced skier and I have to say that Jane & David have a great business Model ! They offer good value skiing with instruction (as required), including transfers to/from the lifts each day, based in a "snowsure resort" (check the records for Pila and you might be surprised) using comfortable chalet accommodation with homely cooking.

Having not skied for about ten years and having just finished chemotherapy, I was looking to restart skiing and was lucky enough to bump into David in the London area in Feb 13 (he was over for a "flying visit") and he sold me the idea of trying their chalet. I have skied at many, many places but didn't know Pila (or JDSKI) but was very impressed with both !.

Although well known by school parties, Pila has great skiing plus the bowl is very "snowsure" and if you want it, there is off-piste, some difficult runs and lots of cruising too. The runs are well maintained (majority manicured nightly) plus there is a snow park as well as some nursery slopes. So overall, there is something for everyone.

The ability to ski with (or get instruction from) Jane & David should appeal to all as they are both competent (BASI qualified and well known in the resort), friendly and try to make it fun for all plus it was all inclusive. The food at the chalet was varied and enjoyable plus the chance to eat out twice a week (if you like Italian food) rather than the once a week on other chalet holidays was an advantage (in my eyes). Also no problems with hot water so everyone having a shower after tea (or first thing in the morning) was no issue. Beer and/or wine included around the evening meals was also well appreciated !

On my first day, after an hour or so with them I was skiing almost as well as I used to, plus for the rest of the week they ensured I had ski companions including quality time spent with an old helper Jordan (excellent skier/BASI who happened to be staying in their nearby flat).

So overall, it was an excellent stay for such an experienced (but rusty) skier but then having said that, other people in the chalet were beginners and Jane and David got them skiing (and enjoying themselves) within a few hours.

So I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JDSKI to mixed ability parties or families so do consider giving them a try - YOU WON'T REGRET IT !

We spent a week this summer in Jane and David's house, with self catering. Everything is provided and the view from the sitting room window is wonderful! The place is quiet and the flat very cozy and perfect to reach the main places of this valley

Guys you have got to take the opportunity to experience this! Jane, David and Maria you are all fantastic. Wonderful hosts both on and off the Piste!! We enjoyed every moment of our stay with you. Wonderful food, wine and company. Nothing was too much trouble, lifts to town for shopping etc. Lovely location and brilliant skiing. What a fantastic Holiday!!!!!!!!!!

I would just like to say a big thank you to Jane, Dave, Maria & Peluche for a fantastic holiday. We?ve never been on a chalet holiday before so we did not know what to expect. Jane, Dave and Maria made us feel so welcome during our stay and the meals were delicious with plenty of servings.

The service was brilliant, Jane and Dave, would take us to the gondola station and come up with us; ski with us until lunch and then leave us to spend the afternoon on our own. When we were ready to come home, we would ring them before we got in the gondola and by time we go down the mountain, they would be waiting outside for us in the van to take us back to the chalet.

As for the skiing in Pila... it was fabulous. The sun was shining, the runs were clear and there were plenty of affordable restaurants to choose from for lunch and have a cheeky hot toddy.... I recommend a ?vino caldo? (mulled wine) or a ?bombardino? (Advocaat with spirits served hot with whipped cream on top).....delicious!!!!!!

This was my 4th Skiing holiday and I can handle most red runs. I?m probably at an intermediate level but have definitely picked up a few bad habits along the way. Jane, Dave and Maria, gave me skiing lessons every morning to help improve my technique. I learnt so much from them that my skiing has come along a treat. At the end of the holiday I was able to pirouette all the way round and even attempted my first black run (which I successfully completed without falling over).

Dave is an advance snowboarder and he loved Pila, especially because it had a half pipe and a snowboard park that he could practice his jumps on.

We love skiing in Italy and have been to Cervinia 3 times. This was our first visit to Pila and we really enjoyed it as it was not as cold as Cervinia and I preferred the scenery as it had plenty of tree lined runs compared to Cervinia that does not have any.

We had a fabulous week with JDSKI and have recommended them to all our friends and family. We hope to take a few more family members with us next time and will definitely be booking up for next year.

Had a fantastic week with David, Jane, Maria & Lewis and of course Peluche?..had chosen Pila as a resort after Charlie had visited the previous season on a school ski trip. Had a few concerns over the size of the area for myself but can honestly say never felt like I was just skiing the same runs over and over.

We had everything from glorious sunshine to a few days of white outs but every day was great! 

David, Jane & the team were great, nothing was too much trouble and the instruction especially with little Alfie ? just 8 and skiing for the first time, who in the space of 24 hours went from being like Bambi on ice to racing down reds and blues determined to be faster than the rest of us!

The food was delicious and even got the kids eating a few things they would have turned their noses up at home.

Lewis very kindly gave Alfie a little ?BASI? badge as a parting gift which he now has as pride of place wanting to be a ?ski instructor? when he grows up!!

All in all a great week and we will be back!

Many thanks Jane and David for some wounderful days in Aosta. The weather was perfect, Pila the skiresort was a nice surprice and your hospitality made everything to a very nice package. And you also have some very nice customers that was the cherry on the top. Hope to see you soon again. Per & Christina
